The first part of the exhibition - "Where Alvaro meets Aldo (1966-2016)” - features photographs, letters, drawings and texts about the conceptual encounters between Álvaro Siza and Aldo Rossi, especially after the first presence of the Portuguese architect at the Venice Biennale, invited for the 1976’s exhibition Europa-America, organized by Vittorio Gregotti and Bernard Huet; an event where Siza exhibited his first urban works, side-by-side with Aldo Rossi’s drawings of La Città Analoga.
