New York State Governor Nelson Rockefeller exits General Electric's experimental Delta electric car. In 1968, GE introduced its experimental Delta electric car to great anticipation. The car, developed by Bruce Laumeister of the GE Research and Development Center, delivered a range of 40 miles per charge. The car led to the development of GE's Elec-Trak line of electric mowing tractors.
