“My sculptures integrate extravagant, bulbous, simple large-scale forms with a feminist view of popular culture, fused with a strong component of the comic-grotesque. The forms in my work are huge, inflated and immoderate. Latex inflatables have their physically breathed into them. The fragility, mutability and volume they embody as objects speak to the material reality of existence. The economy of the ubiquitous balloon in relation to its generosity of form inspires me.”
