This is an original piece of wall that our staff and volunteers framed during this building's restoration into a museum. Various types of wood were used to build homes, so the planks were painted to look the same using a special scoring tool. The Netzleys painted all of the wood blue, then painted over it different shades of brown and used a tool to score, or create ridges, to make the room look like the same type wood.
