Susan Lang, far right and the only woman pictured, drove her husband to the 1917 New England Harley-Davidson® dealer meeting.
Two years earlier in 1915—just a year after learning to ride—Susan Lang made a New England record for long distance motorcycle trip by a woman unaccompanied by man. While on the tour, she visited the New England branch of Harley-Davidson where she earned the distinction of being the first woman to visit the Boston affiliate alone. Susan and John ran Harley-Davidson® dealerships in Waterbury, Connecticut and Providence, Rhode Island.
