Interior of a living room in a New York City brownstone that was remodeled by architect Philip Johnson and the lighting planned by Richard Kelly. The room features simple white walls, linen curtains, and Japanese grass floor mats. It is furnished with sparse modern furniture, such as the Corbusier chair at right. In the center of the photo, is a brass floor lamp specially designed by Johnson and Kelly. The brass base conceals the source of light and the opaque white reflector diffuses it; it has its own dimmer.
