Kim is inspired by natural forms and processes; experimentations in visual and tactile perceptions. She manipulates hue, value, luminosity, pattern, mass, and texture to involve the viewer in unraveling the visual and haptic nature of her art. This piece's bands of color are what are first recognizable; when seen closer, the viewer is able to see the much finer details and contrasts. This is commentary on microscopic and macroscopic scales and are an artificial replication of whats seen in nature. The cross sections ressemble scaffolding. On the painted ground, Kim hand painted small constellations of stars.
