In the photo, you can see the reflectors in operation. There were three lighting towers that were located in the East and West stands. Interestingly, these towers were only used in the stadium's second official game, since the debut game was during the day. The opening game took place on May 11, 1940 between the men's teams from São Paulo vs América (RJ). Women's football opened the spotlights in a preliminary match to São Paulo x Flamengo on May 17, 1940.
