Nilo Peçanha (1867-1924) was an influential leader of Rio de Janeiro politics during the First Republic. He served as Federal Deputy, Senator, Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vice President and President of the Republic (1909-1910). The Nilo Peçanha collection, from the Museu da República Archive, brings together personal correspondence, photographs and other documents relating to his political activities.
