Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde traveled to a vertical farm in Cleburne, Texas to form and photograph a cloud to represent entrepreneurship, innovation, and the American Dream.
Eden Green was an innovative vertical farming company that pioneered hydroponic (water-based) vertical farming to fill grocery shelves with more sustainable herbs and leafy greens. Plants were grown in stacked towers called “vines,” which minimized land use and lessened the impact on the environment. As challenges like food insecurity, water scarcity, and over-development impact communities, vertical farming initiatives are one approach harnessing the power of innovation and solving some of society’s most pressing concerns.
