Taken from Dunjiba by Miss Cook, Alby Hunt travelled 800 kilometres by train to Port Augusta, and was placed in Umeewarra Mission. A striking child, Alby was taken by missionary Mr Waitman to the township to be photographed by the government. On that day, Alby literally became the poster child (as pictured in his hands) for the 1967 Referendum. While the referendum would go on to initiate significant change in Australian society, in 2019 Alby reflects on the past 52 years and wonders if anything has really changed.
