New Orleans rapper and producer Master P (born Percy Miller) started No Limit Records as a retail store which later became a game-changing record label. In addition to Master P.’s own work, No Limit released albums by Snoop Dogg, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X and many more. His roster found great chart success and Master P expanded his empire into the movie industry with No Limit Films. More recently, Master P has become a social activist, working with his son, musician Romeo. "I make so much money off of hip hop that, you know, I was once part of the problem," Master P said. "And now, I want to be a part of the solution." In 2007, Master P and Romeo co-founded a new record label, Take a Stand Records, to promote hip hop music with a positive message. Master P has also established a series of P. Miller Youth Centers to counsel and educate underprivileged youth in cities throughout America. He released his first book, Guaranteed Success When You Never Give Up, in 2007.
