Atsuita is an outer robe reserved primarily for male roles.
The ground colors of red and white blocks are created using the ikat dyeing technique. On the red blocks, battle-axes and clouds are applied while on the white blocks, uneven lattice patterns in brown and green are applied. The battle-ax is a suitable motif for the Atsuita costume representing a powerful man.
