A lined Happi robe is used for strong characters such as demons and vengeful ghosts as well as for depicting the armor of military commanders.
This Happi is made from fabric interwoven with thread, and the thread itself is intertwined with Japanese paper which boasts pasted silver leaf. Imported from India, this type of fabric was regarded as a highly prized article featuring exotic patterns.
