Noh mask Namanari

This mask is used for “Kanawa”, which portrays the sorrow and anger of a woman betrayed by her husband. The focused eyes are upwards slanting and horns are just starting to grow out. The mask vividly represents a woman who changes herself into a demon, driven by her surging jealousy and grudge.
