Noh mask Yase (emaciated)-otoko (man)

The Yase-otoko mask is used for a spirit of a hunter or a fisherman craving salvation. Since he committed the offense of killing animals, which was prohibited by Buddhism, he has been tortured in the hell. This extremely haggard face depicts the disconsolateness of a man who had to break religious taboo to survive.
