Nos 3 & 4 Casemates, on the west side of the Outer Ward, were partially destroyed when they were hit by a bomb during the night of 22-23 September 1940. This survey reveals the extent of the damage to the 18th-Century buildings, which originally housed the office of the Master Assayer of the Mint.
