The supernatural appearance of the priests and ancestors that predominate in early southern coast art is defined by, among other things, gold nose rings with feline whiskers and head ornaments known as diadems. These objects, made of metals such as gold, have been found as part of the funerary goods of personages who had an important role in these early societies. (CP)
