Nostalgic Mountains – Chatting

The photo is part of Huang Tse-hsiu's 1956? "High Mountains, Ancient Affections" series, and was probably taken in the1960s or 1970s. From the figures' clothing and the mountain scenery, it's apparent that the subjects are three young indigenous farmers who live and work in the area. It seems that they have had a chance encounter and are standing on the roadside, chatting about farming and family life. The scene presented a photo-op to Huang Tse-hsiu, who happened to be passing by. Huang then created this natural and harmonious documentary image, a true, vivid picture of indigenous people's life in Taiwan's mountains a half-century ago.?
