The card cames, "Nuclear War", "Nuclear Escalation" and "Nuclear Proliferation" are part of a trilogy invented by Douglas Malewicki between the 1960s and the early 1980s. The first in the series, "Nuclear War," was so popular that it was reissued during the 1970s. As stated on the boxes, they are "comical cataclysmic card games for 2-6 players of all ages. A humerous confrontation between touchy world powers as each player attempts to sway his opponents' populations with diplomacy and propaganda. When that inevitably fails, the annihilation begins! Little old ladies defect in electric cars and the dreaded "supergerm" escapes to spread devastation!
