The artist grew up in the Catholic tradition, influencing a part of his art work. Tonantzintla is one of the first churches built America in 16th century and one of the few that survives to this day.
Antonio Álvarez Morán is an artist graduated from the UDLAP, his work focuses in Puebla, it’s traditions, history and people, sometimes going for a reinterpretation of history. He uses bright colors and also invented the technique called “alvarezado” that mixes collage, encaustic and oil.
