Nuestros Antepasados (detail)

Amalia drew on her Mexican roots for her 2013 digital print, “Nuestros Antepasados,” our ancestors. It is made up of male and female ceramic burial figures from Jalisco, Mexico dated 100 BCE – 250 BCE. The figures were in her 2013 New World Wunderkammer project at the Fowler Museum, UCLA and are part of the collection there.
