The amateur photographer Joseph Eschenlohr (1886-1978) spent time in Nuremberg, among other places, between the 1930s and 1950s. On his travels, he captured the city in color slides. The photograph shows one of seven of Hans Wertinger's panel paintings from a series of monthly pictures: here the month of December (from the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nuremberg, Gm1240), on a wooden wall hanging. Inscription slide frame: "Germ. Mus.", rear "Monatsbild. Schlachtfest / H. Wertinger. 1470-1533"
