View from southeast over the Hauptmarkt with Neptune Fountain (copy from 1902, original in Petershof Palace near St. Petersburg in Russia) (until 1933 on the Hauptmarkt, today in the Stadtpark)

A copy of the Neptune Fountain was made in 1902 and henceforth placed on the Hauptmarkt. The original went to St. Petersburg in Russia to the Petershof Palace. Until 1933, the Neptune Fountain - or rather its copy - was located on the Hauptmarkt, after which it was moved to the city park, where it still stands today.

This illustration is a photochrome. Similar to a lithograph, the individual color layers are printed separately and thus receive their radiant colorfulness. Photochromes from Photochrom Zürich, abbreviated P. Z., can often be identified by a serial number followed by the letters P. Z. and a caption in gold.
