The amateur photographer Joseph Eschenlohr (1886-1978) spent time in Nuremberg, among other places, between the 1930s and 1950s. On his travels, he captured the city in color slides. The photograph shows a view along a street at the street corner Spitalga[sse?], on the left a choir on a house facade, on the right a Madonna with Child as a house figure. In the background a corner tower of Wolff's Town Hall building can be seen (Historic Town Hall Nuremberg). The photo was thus taken not far from the main market and was probably taken in the summer/fall of 1938 (05.-12.09.1938 the Reich Party Rallies of the NSDAP took place in Nuremberg); inscription slide frame: "Nürnberg ~ 1938".
