This collection includes two nuts taken by Lady Franklin from St Catherine's Garden and the Monastery Garden at Mount Sinai, and two acorns received by her from the garden of Christ's College, Tasmania (1848)

They have been mounted on the backs of cards which have been reused for the purpose. The cards are: a business card of William Pitcher and Co., Indian rubber manufacturers, Notting Hill; an invitation card of Mrs Burnes to Mr Gell; an electioneering card of Mr Evans asking for the vote of Rev. John P. Gell at the poll held at County Hall, St Mary's Gate, Derby; and part of an invitation card of William Covington for an event held in a church (1874). The Rev. John Philip Gell was Lady Franklin's son in law.
