A GENERAL VIEW AT NIGHT OF THE BRITISH PETROLEUM COMPANY'S OIL REFINERY ON THE ISLE OF GRAIN, KENT. ONE OF THE LARGEST AND MOST MODERN REFINERIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, IT WAS BUILT AT A COST OF MORE THAN £70MILLION, AND IS CAPABLE OF REFINING MORE THAN 7MILLION TONS OF CRUDE OIL PER YEAR. BEING ABLE TO PROCESS A FULL RANGE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS FROM HIGH OCTANE AVIATION GASOLINE TO FUEL OIL. AT ITS JETTIES, TANKERS OF UP TO 4OM DWT. CAN DISCHARGE THEIR CARGOES OF CRUDE OIL, AND LOAD REFINED PRODUCTS FOR EXPORT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. PRODUCTS ALSO LEAVE THE REFINERY BY ROAD AND RAIL Industry - Oil Refinery - Isle of Grain
