The Japanese Kei Takei, artistic director of the Moving Earth Company from New York, has created a ballet for NDT 2 from her 'Light series'. 'Light' is her chorographical lifework that started out in 1969. In this series she aims to capture the essence of her nature. All different parts of ‘Light’ show a different aspect of her creativity, as if a bundle of light that unveils her inner self.

The choreographer sees al of her work as a reflection of an imaginary life. The essence of nature has to be captured in the movement. Universal themes like birth, death, power and weakness, hope, destruction, and reconstruction have to be expressed in the work.
