Logic العلوم المنطقية 2. Physics العلوم الطبيعية 3. Mathematics and Astronomy العلوم الرياضية 4. Theology (Metaphysics) العلوم الالهية Each part (except the fourth) is divided into many subsections (فنّ), as follows: 1. Logic, into nine 2. Physics, into eight 3. (Mathematics and Astronomy, into four 4. Theology, in one section. Only the first main part—Logic—is here extant, more specifically the fourth subsection, which deals with syllogisms(القياس). The latter is divided into nine مقالة, and in turn each مقالة contains many paragraphs. From these maqālas, which do not bear specific titles here, the first, second, almost the entire third, and the conclusion of the ninth are missing. The above text from f.1r belongs to the third maqāla.
