In the Liquidambar's Bosquet grows a remarkable Liquidambar, one of the tallest centenary trees in the Botanical Garden of the University of Porto. Unfortunately, its crown was badly affected by strong winds in the autumn of 2018, but, since them, we have been working to minimise the damage. At this time of year this species paints itself in vibrant colours, ranging from yellow to purple, making it a popular ornamental tree in parks, gardens and in the street. Its name alludes to the aromatic resin extracted from its bark, which looks like liquid amber and is widely used in perfumery and medicine.
