Home Stretch of the 100 meter long rowing competition, among the teams competing that day were those from the countries of Switzerland, East Germany, Italy, New Zealand, the United States and the USSR. The gold medal winners being the New Zealand team, followed by East Germany who won the silver medal and Switzerland taking the bronze.
