Description of "Portrait of a Noblewoman" attributed to Alonso Sanchez Coello at that time, but dismissed a few years later. Attribution remains unknown today. This illustration is from the auction catalogue "Illustrated catalogue of the Rita Lydig collection." The painting was purchased by the Blakeslee Galleries at the Lydig auction for $10,300 and was then bought from them in 1913 by the Worcester Art Museum, Massachusetts, where it remains today. They list the artist as the School of Madrid, Spanish, early 17th century.
