Octopus (detail of the Ideal Palace)

Postman Cheval's final sculpture in the palace, in the corner of the north and west facades. Below it, he wrote "Octopus, marine animal," even though the sculpture itself resembles a mythological creature, with a bull's head and a human head, overlooked by two birds.
