The Chōzaemon I found the most suitable clay for his wares in the area around the village of Ōhi, which is a suburb of Kanazawa. The name for Ōhi ware came from the village of Ōhi in which it was produced. The ceramic tradition of Ōhi-yaki has been handed down from generation to generation for almost 350 years.
