Gat, a Noblemen's hat decorated with jade from Joseon dynasty. The top of this hat is round and decorated with heron shaped jade, which symbolizes a righteousness. It is framed with fine bamboo strips, then overlaid with simple raw silk gauze and then lacquered in black ink. The string attached under the chin strap is made of 18 ivory beads and 18 thin bamboo tubes, and decorated with an ivory ring in the middle. This is a complete set of Heron shaped jade, string and ties made of dark blue silk (simple gauze).
