For a holiday dinner around Christmas time, the dining room of British theatrical designer Oliver Messel. The room overflows with many multicolored bouquets of roses. The room is decorated with dark flock paper on the walls, white Indian lawn curtains, and gilt mirrors and chandeliers. Painted Regency chairs surround the dining table set with a Venetian embroidered white organdy cloth, Sevres-handled knives, Georgian silver spoons and forks, and Spode dinner plates. In the center of the table is a seventeenth-century Spanish bowl filled with roses, and standing on a Charles II silver strawberry dish. To the left, is a gold console table topped with a Portuguese silver swan filled with roses.
