Olympic Games Opening

The inauguration of the XIX Olympics was held on October 12, 1968, at the Ciudad Universitaria Stadium. Being the first time that a Latin American country hosted the Olympic Games. That day the stands were filled with thousands of spectators who watched as the athlete Enriqueta Basilio lit the cauldron, starting the Olympic Games.
