Omawumi

Omawumi Megbele widely known simply as Omawumi is an actress and singer/songwriter who incorporates elements of soul and R&B into her bright, funk-laden pop sound. After having graduated with a law degree in 2005, she auditioned for the 2007 West African version of the TV talent show franchise Idols. She was ultimately voted first runner-up and has gone on to become one the most formidable vocalists on the Nigerian pop music charts with hits like “Bottom Belle”, “If You Ask Me” and lots more. She has received multiple awards including Next Rated Artiste at the Hip Hop World Award 2009,ELOY Awards nominee for the Best Female Artist 2014 and Best Vocal Performance(Female) at The Headies,2018. She also has several movie appearances to her credit including being one of the lead actors in the movie ‘She Is’ which premiered in March 2019.
Omawumi became the first headlining artist for a Trace Live concert which took place at the Terra Kulture Arena on the 22nd of June 2017.
