「鎧の渡し」の名称は、源義家が上総国に渡ろうとした際に暴風雨に遭い、鎧を沈めて龍神に祈願したとの伝承に由来します。この渡しは茅場町と小網町を結び、この先にある日本橋の物資の運搬が盛んでした。川岸の土蔵が、壁のように並んで描かれています。
