One of two nearly identical door knockers in the shape of lion's heads. Each shows a lion's head emerging from a hollow, convex circular plate with three holes drilled above and to the right and left off the head. The lions hold large rings in their mouths between four oversized fangs. The tongue protrudes and a row of upper teeth are rendered with incision. Both lions glance upwards and have tufting brows that sweep out toward the mane, which is composed of thick locks with incised strands. Above the head, the mane gathers into swirling locks with one prominent one swept up and projecting outwards. The lion is missing its tongue.
