Only Good News' consists of a medical cabinet with shelves filled with stacks of newspapers. The artwork contrasts art with everyday banality, reinterpreting the commonality of the cabinet and newspapers to activate subjective abstractions.
In Ondak's own words, we can understand that 'Only Good News' presents "a medical cabinet with glass doors behind which medications would normally be stored on shelves. Here, the shelf space is completely filled with piles of newspapers, as if the news is undergoing a healing process." In his work, Ondak explores the phenomenon of time and conceptual shifts, where any object or event can become part of his artistic concept. In this case, the "good news" can serve as a spark of hope in the face of uncertainties ushered in by the beginning of the 21st century.
