The ceilling originally comes from the Ducs of Maqueda's palace built in Tolede in the 15th century. The palace have been uninstalled in 1905 and Joachim Carvallo brought back one of the four ceillings in Villandry. The three others parts of it are currently stored in international renowned museums. The reconstitution of the ceilling composed by 36000 painted wooden pieces required one year of work.
