The L.P. Grant Mansion originally featured nine fireplaces, of which three included mantlepieces from the Mirror Marble Mantel Company of Roxbury, Massachussetts. The Mirror Marble Company exhibited in London's 1851 Great Exhibition of Works of All Nations (sometimes known as the Crystal Palace Exposition). L.P. Grant placed one of these mantels in this double drawing room as well as in his library.
