However, even designating her only as 'daughter of Herodíades', the New Testament make her responsible for the death of John the Baptist, in the Gospel of Matthew (14, 3-11) and Mark (6, 17-29), when she asked the prophet's head on a plate as a reward for him to have danced for her uncle and step-father Herodes, ruler of Judea, during a feast."
