Tullio Pericoli is an illustrator and cartoonist who has worked for publications such as “Linus”, “Il Corriere della Sera”, “L'Espresso” and “La Repubblica” (his most well-known strips were realised for the column “Tutti da Fulvia Sabato Sera”). In 1990 the Turinese publishing house Einaudi published his “Ritratti Arbitrari”: a series of drawings of famous literary characters. Franco Maria Ricci commissioned him the portraits of the authors who appeared in the editor's book series directed by Borges entitled “La Biblioteca di Babele”. Pericoli's portraits successfully convey writers' personality.
