Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove is a 75 hectares UNESCO World Heritage Site dotted with shrines and surrounded by unspoiled dense forest. The grove is preserved as a sacred place of worship where worshipers offer prayers and sacrifices. Annually, osun devotees from around the world gather at the grove to celebrate the Yoruba goddess of fertility during the Osun-Osogbo festival. Susan Wenger was the leading advocate for the preservation of the grove.
