Figürliche Schutzamulette waren zu allen Zeiten ein wichtiger Bestandteil persönlicher Frömmigkeit. Das Schmuckelement (ÄM 22001) mit der Darstellung der Nilpferdgöttin Thoeris und der Uräusschlange sollte vor Gefahren aller Art schützen.
