Over and Above Series (Fox)

During the 1960s, Clarence Holbrook Carter created a series of large canvases and small drawings featuring birds, giant insects, and other animals peering over walls. The crisp style and mysterious mood of this work are important elements of the magic realist style employed by Carter in many of his best-known paintings.
