This is a garment worn by girls. Girls’ clothes consist of jeogori (upper jacket), skirt and dangui (upper garment worn over jeogori); headgear such as gulle (fabric hat), jobawi (winter hat with earflaps), and baetsi (hair accessory); and accessories such as a pouch, beoseon (socks), and shoes. The shape of girl’s clothes is generally similar to those of adult women, except for the size. Unlike adults’ clothes, children’s clothes employ bright and vivid colors, and the sleeves are made from strips of five colors. The collar is decorated with jatmullim (decorative stitching), and breast ties are comparatively long. Skirts were also scarlet or pink. Girls styled their hair in three triple braids joined at the end with a ribbon, and wore quilted socks with strings.
