The painting was purchased for the Wyoming House of Representatives. Elling William Gollings (17 March 1878 – 16 April 1932) was born in Pierce City, Idaho Territory. His paintings are known for their accurate accountings of the Old West. Gollings drew upon his own personal experiences as a cowboy, and was also known to have studied and admired the drawings of Frederic Remington. Hans He signed with last name and a pony track insignia.
